"You Are The Reason" - Prom 2018

This weekend, our girlie had her last High School Prom.
She graduates in just 2 weeks!

They had so much fun!

Their group was at our house for a little bit of the day date
and you could hear the laughter come rolling up the stairs.
How I love that sound!!!
=D

How grateful we are
that the twigs have had
such hard-working, fun-loving, kind,
good friends through High School!

Do you do Dabke?

Our girlie is taking an Intro to Dance 1010
class this semester and that tickles me because
she might ask me to attend some dance performances with her!

I got lucky this weekend as she asked me to go with her to
the Repertory Dance Theatre performance of Dabke.

The music was an interesting Middle Eastern Folk and Arab Pop blend
and was my favorite part of the evening.

Our girlie is the dancer in the family so she could appreciate
the modern dance more than I could.

A side note - it's been many years
since we've paid for parking in a SLC lot
and they've made the best changes
with these handy dandy little machines!

They're genius!

"Havana nights" dance...

These fun High School kids
had a great time together
at their day date,

yummy dinner

(Thanks, David, for the pictures above!  =D)

and "Havana Nights" Dance!

"Show us your smolder, guys!"

Such amazing and totally on the ball kids!

For three of them, it's their Senior year.
They'll soon be off to college
and on missions
with lots of great memories
of these years.

Even longer,' Pooh answered.”

They've shared lots of great times together
and have a future
as bright as the sun!

A Night in Mumbai...

This weekend our girlie's High School had a dance.

The theme was A Night in Mumbai
which instantly made me think of
the cute song at the end of Mirror Mirror,
called I Believe in Love.

Makes you want to dance doesn't it
and ya gotta love those dwarves!

Back to the girlie and her friends.

She and her date made each other's corsage and boutineer
the night before the dance
and he was pretty proud of his creation.

Nice job guys!

One of the girls wasn't able to make it for games and photos
so we missed her in the group pictures
but her date was a delightful photo bomber.
 ;)

Once again, I find myself filled to the top with gratitude
 for the twig's great friends.
Kind, funny, smart, on the ball kids
who give me lots of hope for the future.

What a sweetheart...

Hunter and this wonderful girl went to Sweethearts Dance a few weeks ago.

Their day date was a scavenger hunt
around the neighborhood with 3 other couples
gathering frosting and decorations for sugar cookies.
Then they got treats and decorated cookies.

They'd made their flowers together a few days before

and they looked great!
Their flowers looked great too!  ;)

She sent us this picture of their group.

Good times!

The twigs at efy...

The twigs LOVE efy!!

They tell stories when they get home of
fun dances,
inspiring teachers,
and endless ice cream (that would be Hunter).

As great as those things are, there aren't pictures on the twigs phones of those things
but there are lots of pictures of the people they got to know and love;

their companies,

roomies,

counselors,

and session directors.

The theme this year was "Here am I" from the Bible, 1 Samuel 3:4 where
The Lord calls in the night to Samuel and Samuel answers,
"Here am I... Speak; for thy servant heareth...
And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground."

What a great theme!
I hope these fun twigs and us branches can always listen to the Lord.
I'm so grateful He speaks to us today.

SBO elections...

At the end of May, Hunter decided to toss his hat in the ring for Student Body Officer elections. He ran for Vice-President.

His good Dad and a few other guys helped him get campaign supplies. There was a $30 limit on what candidates could spend to campaign.

The night of the election, the school had a pajama themed dance. They announced the new SBO's and these three are it. Congrats!
