Such a treat, a "Springtime" treat!

The twigs have a cousin named Spring.
Yes, she's as bright and happy as her name.

Zac told me tonight that next to us,

Spring wrote him the most letters on his mission.

She's thoughtful beyond her years and is such a blessing in our lives.
Yesterday I got the mail and found an envelope from Spring
for Emily!

It was hard to wait for our girlie to get home from work
so she could open it!

This is what she found inside...

A "congratulations graduate" card
and a portrait of our Emma!

Spring so nailed it!
How does she do that?!

Spring wears many hats and one of them is
creator of the cutest stick figure doodles.
She even sells them on Etsy.

We love to read her blog too!

Thank you dear Spring
for sharing your adorable creations with us
through the years.

They are treasures and we love them so much!
Though as much as we love them,
we love you more!
xoxo

Senior pictures for our last twig...

Senior pictures have been such a fun rite of passage.

The whole family came along to take Zac's senior pictures.
Man, he looks young!
We were racing daylight but got some great shots.

Hunter was less excited haha.
It was just him and me going to take his senior pictures
and I remember him telling me about his friends
who LOVED to go do photo shoots - for fun!
He said something like
"how many more times in my life will I HAVE to do this." haha
We surmised it will probably only be once or twice so he might live through it.

I wonder how he remembers that conversation
but with him on the other side of the continent
I guess we'll just have to go with my recollection. ;)

He survived the photo shoot and
it fills my heart to see pictures of that
face we love and miss so much.
<3

Fast forward 2 years,
it was just Emma and me and again we were racing daylight.
Antelope Island is our backdrop of choice.
We have heaps of great family memories there.
We love that place!

We love this girlie!

It was sooo easy to take her pictures!

Congrats sweet girl and have a blast enjoying your graduation!

"You Are The Reason" - Prom 2018

This weekend, our girlie had her last High School Prom.
She graduates in just 2 weeks!

They had so much fun!

Their group was at our house for a little bit of the day date
and you could hear the laughter come rolling up the stairs.
How I love that sound!!!
=D

How grateful we are
that the twigs have had
such hard-working, fun-loving, kind,
good friends through High School!

Do you do Dabke?

Our girlie is taking an Intro to Dance 1010
class this semester and that tickles me because
she might ask me to attend some dance performances with her!

I got lucky this weekend as she asked me to go with her to
the Repertory Dance Theatre performance of Dabke.

The music was an interesting Middle Eastern Folk and Arab Pop blend
and was my favorite part of the evening.

Our girlie is the dancer in the family so she could appreciate
the modern dance more than I could.

A side note - it's been many years
since we've paid for parking in a SLC lot
and they've made the best changes
with these handy dandy little machines!

They're genius!

"Havana nights" dance...

These fun High School kids
had a great time together
at their day date,

yummy dinner

(Thanks, David, for the pictures above!  =D)

and "Havana Nights" Dance!

"Show us your smolder, guys!"

Such amazing and totally on the ball kids!

For three of them, it's their Senior year.
They'll soon be off to college
and on missions
with lots of great memories
of these years.

"We'll be Friends Forever, won't we, Pooh?' asked Piglet.
Even longer,' Pooh answered.”
-Winnie-the-Pooh"

They've shared lots of great times together
and have a future
as bright as the sun!

Dr. Seuss and Valentines...

Two things combined this week that were lots of fun.

Valentines Day and Dr. Seuss!

Sheila was asked by her friend
to make a Dr. Seuss picture for an upcoming Young Women's Activity.

She whipped this up in less than 2 hours.

The girl is amazing!!

This was pretty amazing too!

On Valentines Day, our sweet girlie got up early
and decorated for us all.

Then she made yummy
heart-shaped french toast for everyone to boot!

Which all reminds me of some great Dr. Seuss quotes....

“To the world you may be one person;
but to one person you may be the world.”
- Dr. Seuss

“Today I shall behave, as if this is the day I will be remembered.”
-Dr. Seuss

Our girlie and her brother Zac
have been working on living that last quote.

Every day or two another cute saying appears
on Zac's wall above his light switch....

After a while, these hearts all appeared in her room.

It's not always sunshine and roses at our house
but I'm grateful that these dear people
are working on being more Christlike.

The best of college life...

The other day,
Paul and I came home from the Stake Single Adults' Breakfast Activity
to this cool-looking doohickie on our front porch.

Yes!!
How fun does that look?!!

One of the twigs' favorite things

 about college life
is the plethora of recreation/physical education classes
they get to take
and this semester they're both taking skiing and golf.
Our girlie is also taking racquetball.

Their pal, Will, is taking a snowboarding class
but the classes are at the same time so they carpool together
and get to ski together after their lessons.

It's only been two weeks
but the stories when they get home are so much fun!!!!!
I'm sure grateful
our twigs like to tell us their stories
because we sure like to listen!

Thanks for sharing your pics, guys.
=D
