One of my favorite petitions
given in the dedication of the Kirtland Ohio Temple
in 1836 was to
"establish a house,
even
a house of prayer,
a house of fasting,
a house of faith,
a house of learning,
a house of glory,
a house of order,
a house of God;"
(Thanks to LeAnna, Jessica, Connie,
and anyone else who took these YW pictures)
Our beloved Young Womens Leaders were released yesterday
and we have a new
"house of"
that's been established.
It's a house of mourning.
Oh how our girlie loved these women.
Her heart is aching at the thought
of not being blessed to spend girls camp and every
Sunday and Wednesday in their company.
She asked me last night
what that tender quote was
that speaks so genuinely about loving and grieving.
This is the quote.
"...grief is the natural by-product of love...
The only way to avoid the grief
would be to not experience the love;
and it is love that gives life its richness and meaning."
-Lance B. Wickman
Our girlie will come to love again as more faithful, dedicated women
have been called to carry on the work
of helping families help the young women in our neighborhood
understand their loving Heavenly Father's "vision of who they are,
where they are going and what they are to achieve in this life."
We've been through the mourning enough times to know
that love will grow over time for the new leaders as well.
But as for now, we have a house of mourning...
These made the tears flow again. I will miss this calling and these girls, but I know in my heart that we are truly called by God and I know that my work with these YW is done for now. It was an amazing 4 years being in the YW program, but its time to move on to another wonderful calling. Love you all!
